Muse is a multi-purpose venue combining a bookshop and upmarket cafe.
Located in the bottom of Canberra’s multi-award-winning EAST Hotel, Muse is an independent business serving breakfast seven days, and lunch Wednesday – Saturday.

About the role
Responsibilities for all floor staff include:
- To ensure the quality and safety of all food served to customers;
- Suitable cooperation and communication between other employees at all times to deliver timely, quality service to customers;
- Identify problems and resolve them quickly and efficiently and maintain a level head; and
- Flexibility to work in a variety of roles whether in the café or in the bookshop.
We are looking for staff who are punctual, reliable and fast on their feet, and comfortable engaging with customers from a variety of backgrounds.
All applicants must hold a current ACT RSA.

Basic position indicative salary range: Level 3 Food and beverage attendant (Restaurant Industry Award MA000119) plus superannuation and benefits.
Skills and experience
Successful applicants must have a minimum of six-months restaurant experience, possess a sound understanding of personal hygiene and appearance, and be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service and initiative.
Applicants for the position must be willing to lead by example in observing standards, rules and regulations, and should be eager to develop their career with an independent organisation.
Coffee making skills would be an advantage.
