The 2011 Eastern University Games proved to be CIT’s best games yet! With a team of 35 athletes this year, CIT came away from the games with winners pennants from Tennis and our unbeatable Lawn Bowls team. Our Futsal and Touch teams battled it out with some stiff competition to finish 6th and 7th in their respective competitions, while our Ultimate Frisbee team struggled with injuries and the windy drizzle of our Canberra winter to finish 16th.
A big thank you to the CIT Team’s sponsors for this year – Canberra Institute of Technology Student Association (CITSA) and Powerade. Also a special thank you to the sports studies students who came on board as team management this year.
The Eastern University Games head to Tamworth next year so make sure you get your name down early for a great week away!
